First, be assured we will not sell this mailing list or have it used for junk mail.
We will, however, try to support the association through a sponsor – and a sponsor
must know our association is made up of real people.
As we are charging no membership fee and are not independently wealthy, a sponsor
would enable us to do far more than we can on our own. For example, a sponsor would
allow us to advertise to increase membership. We believe a large membership base is
the only way NHLFA.com can have any real impact on the game. With a sponsor, we could
also connect with the thousands of hockey fans who do not have Internet access. To
reach these people, we have to use regular mail and that is expensive.
Also, every time we issue a news release to the media (and this is our major way of
getting the word out right now), we have to use a wire service – another expense, and
another reason we require sponsorship.
We need your names and addresses to demonstrate that we have real people registered,
and e-mail addresses wouldn't be sufficient. We will not give the list to anyone, nor let them
copy it.
We will consider allowing our major sponsors access to the membership list which is
only reasonable if they are providing funds to help us operate and expand. Again this
does not imply we will give them the list or sell them the list. Feel free to contact
