Fans Bid for 2008 All Star Game Opportunities

December 24, 2007
For immediate release

(OTTAWA) - The National Hockey League Fans' Association (NHLFA) announced today an opportunity for two fans of the game to bid and win opportunities to be public relations assistants at the 2008 NHL All Star Game weekend in Atlanta held January 25-27.

Two fans will help the NHL's public relations department and assist the game's best players as they fulfill media availability. The two fans will also spend some quality private time with the Stanley Cup ®.

Half of the proceeds from the auction, hosted on the NHLFA's Web site at www.nhlfa.com, will be given to the charity Hockey Fights Cancer. The other half of the proceeds will go to the not-for-profit NHLFA.

"The NHL has stepped up and presented fans of the game with a wonderful opportunity for two fans to get up close to the game's best players," said NHLFA co-founder Jim Boone. "It will be a very memorable weekend for two lucky fans."

The online auction begins on December 25, 2007 and concludes January 12, 2008.

The NHLFA was launched in 1998, to give NHL fans a way to express their views on the game and to influence it for the better. There is no charge for membership and to date 30,000 fans have registered via the Association's Web site, www.nhlfa.com. Though not affiliated with the National Hockey League, the NHLFA communicates closely with the League on behalf of hockey fans.
