San Jose Goaltender Takes NHLFA Award

The NHL Fans' Association has voted San Jose goalie Evgeni Nabokov the year's biggest bargain. The 25-year-old wins the NHLFA's 'Best Bang for the Buck' award for 2000-01. He is earning $475,000 this season, about one-third of the average league salary ($1.41 million).
