The NHL General Managers made a series of proposed changes to the game
yesterday. Please visit http://www.nhlfa.com/minipoll04/ and give us your
opinion on these changes.
The results of our last poll regarding the NHLFA's course of action related
to the expiration of the CBA revealed that 62% of you are in favour of
foregoing our annual Fan Report poll to tackle CBA issues. The poll also
asked you if the NHLFA community should re-write the main components of the
NHL-NHLPA CBA and release the fans' solution to the media, NHL executives
and NHLPA. More than 90% of you supported this approach, so we will
follow-up by proposing alternate terms for the new CBA - prepared by the
"fans".
Attached to this note is our corporate sponsorship proposal. There are four
distinct opportunities for companies to support our organization. They
range in financial commitment from $3000 per year as a sponsor of an NHLFA
local chapter, to $25,000 as the title sponsor. We desperately need your
help distributing this proposal to companies. Can you please send this
document to any prospective sponsors on behalf of the NHLFA? We've also
placed the proposal at http://www.nhlfa.com/NHLFA_Sponsor_Proposal.doc in
case the attachment doesn't make it.
Finally, this year represents a crucial period for the NHLFA. Please
encourage your friends and family to join the NHLFA to make our voices even
