Dear Mr. Saskin:
Congratulations on your recent appointment to the Executive Director position at the NHL Players' Association.
Since 1998, our organization, the NHL Fans' Association, has made numerous attempts to develop a relationship with your organization. Year after year, our requests to meet with the NHLPA have fallen on deaf ears.
I am optimistic the new Collective Bargaining Agreement between the NHL and the NHLPA will allow you to build a partnership that can only be beneficial to everyone. However, it is also essential that the game's primary stakeholder, the fans, forge a strong relationship with the NHL and the NHLPA.
To that end, we have initiated dialogue with the NHL over the past few months and it appears that the League is receptive to working closely with the NHLFA towards strengthening the relationship between our organizations. Likewise, it is of the utmost importance that the NHLPA and the NHLFA create a strong working partnership.
I encourage you to contact me at your convenience to arrange a face-to-face meeting to kick-start this new relationship.
Sincerely,
Jim Boone
